ईसा मसीह का शिष्य ..(Disciple of Jesus Christ. ..)

ईसा मसीह के एक शिष्य ने एक बार उनके खिलाफ झूठी गवाही दे दी। इससे उनके अन्य शिष्य बड़े नाराज हो गए। एक शिष्य ने तो ईसा से कह डाला - ‘आखिर आपके इस शिष्य का इतना पतन कैसे हुआ कि झूठ बोलने में उसे जरा भी हिचक नहीं हुई? उसे इसका दंड अवश्य मिलना चाहिए।’ ईसा मसीह ने कुछ सोच कर उस शिष्य से कहा-‘कोई कुछ भी कहता रहे, हमें इसका ख्याल नहीं करना चाहिए। उसके प्रति दुर्भावना रखना भी उचित नहीं। बल्कि यदि वह कोई गलत काम करता है तो हमें प्रभु से प्रार्थना करनी चाहिए कि वह उसे माफ कर दे। जहां तक असत्य बोलने की बात है तो कब क्या घटित होगा और कौन क्या करेगा, यह कोई नहीं जानता?

अब यदि तेरे बारे में कहूं कि मुर्गे के बांग देने से पहले तू भी झूठ बोलेगा, तो तुझे इस पर यकीन नहीं होगा।’ इतने में ही सिपाही आ गए और ईसा को पकड़ कर ले जाने लगे। 

शिष्यों में हड़बड़ी मच गई और वे अपने लिए छिपने का स्थान ढूंढने लगे। वह शिष्य भी एक जगह छिपने जा ही रहा था कि एक सिपाही ने उसे देख लिया और पूछा- ‘कौन है तू, कहीं तू ईसा का साथी तो नहीं है?’ अपनी जान बचाने के इरादे से उस शिष्य ने जवाब दिया कि ईसा को तो वह जानता ही नहीं। इतने में एक मुर्गे ने बांग दी और उस शिष्य को ईसा के कहे शब्दों का स्मरण हो गया। वह सोचने लगा कि सचमुच मैं कितना पापी हूं कि मैंने अपनी जान बचाने के लिए झूठ का सहारा ले लिया, जबकि थोड़ी ही देर पहले अपने एक साथी द्वारा झूठ बोलने पर मैंने उसकी निंदा की थी। वह समझ गया कि हमें दूसरों की गलती तो तुरंत दिखाई देती है, लेकिन वही स्थिति हम पर आ जाए तो हमें उसे दोहराने में जरा भी हिचक नहीं होती।
