पिछले कुछ वर्षों से महिलाओं और लड़कियों में पीरियड्स को आगे बढ़ाने का एक चलन शुरू हुआ है। वे इसका दुष्परिणाम जाने बिना एक-दूसरे से जानकारी लेकर ही ऐसा कर रही हैं और पीरियड्स को तय समय पर आने से रोक रही हैं। आज कल महिलाओं को कहीं जाना हो, पार्टी हो, कोई पूजा-पाठ हो, या कोई जरूरी काम हो और उस समय उनकी पीरियड्स की तारीख रहती है, तो बिना सोचे-समझे, बिना डॉक्टर की सलाह के वे तुरंत मेडिकल स्टोर्स से दवाई खरीद कर खा लेती हैं, और पीरियड्स को कुछ समय के लिए आगे बढ़ा लेती हैं।
