अपनी ताकत का प्रदर्शन नहीं, उसका जनहित में प्रयोग करें ....(Not demonstrate its strength, its use in the public interest ....)

संत राबिया अपनी कुटिया में कुछ संतों के साथ अध्यात्म चर्चा में मशगूल थीं। एक संत का कहना था कि अध्यात्म के लिए जरूरी नहीं कि संगीत का सहारा लिया ही जाए, जबकि राबिया का मानना था कि ऊपर वाले को याद करने के लिए यह जरूरी न सही, लेकिन एक बेहतर तरीका है। इससे उस सर्वशक्तिमान से आत्मिक तौर पर जुड़ने में सहूलियत होती है। असल में संगीत हमें एकाग्रता देता है जो ईश्वरोपासना के लिए आवश्यक तत्व है। 

बहस चल ही रही थी कि संत हसन बसरी आ पहुंचे और बोले, ‘आप लोग इस बंद जगह पर क्यों बैठे हैं, चलिए हम तालाब के किनारे बैठकर इस बात पर चर्चा करते हैं।’ दरअसल उन्हें पानी पर चलने की सिद्धि प्राप्त हुई थी। वह उसके प्रदर्शन के लिए उतावले थे। राबिया को हवा में उड़ने की सिद्धि थी। वह उनका इरादा भांप गईं। बोलीं, ‘भाई हम हवा में उड़ते-उड़ते बातें करें तो कैसा रहेगा?’ हसन को समझ में आ गया कि राबिया उन पर कटाक्ष कर रही हैं। अपनी पोल खुलती देख वह खीजकर रह गए। राबिया ने समझाया,‘तुम जो कर सकते हो वह तो एक मछली भी कर सकती है और जो मैं करती हूं वो एक मक्खी भी कर सकती है। मगर उस चमत्कार से भी बड़ी कोई चीज है, जिसे हमें विनम्रता से खोजना चाहिए। हमें अपनी शक्ति का प्रदर्शन नहीं, उसका लोकहित में प्रयोग करना चाहिए।’

सफल जीवन का मूल तत्व है विनम्रता। मनुष्य चाहकर भी अपने अहंकार और अभिमान को झुका नहीं पाता। जानते हुए भी कि एकपक्षीय पकड़ जीवन के हर मोड़ पर व्यक्ति को अकेला कर देती है, वह औरों के अस्तित्व को स्वीकृति नहीं दे पाता। उसकी यह दुर्बलता रही है कि उसे हर समय अपनी छोटी-सी उपलब्धि या योग्यता ही नजर आती है, दूसरों की बड़ी से बड़ी उपलब्धि या योग्यता को वह नगण्य मानता है। ऐसे लोगों को कभी अपनी भूल या कमी नजर नहीं आती जबकि औरों की छोटी-सी भूल भी अपराध लगती है। बड़ी सफलताएं भी इसलिए आधी-अधूरी रह जाती हैं क्योंकि हमारा अहंकार वहां आ खड़ा होता है। 

काम, क्रोध, लोभ, मोह और अहंकार, ये पांच विकार हैं। किसी व्यक्ति के पास जब कोई विशेष पदार्थ या गुण आ जाए तो वह अपने आप को सर्वश्रेष्ठ समझने लगता है। यही मनुष्य के पतन का कारण बन जाता है। जरूरी है कि इंसान अहंकार के शिकंजे 

से स्वयं को मुक्त करे। उसमें बौद्धिक विनम्रता जागे और वैचारिक समन्वय पैदा हो। उसका सुखवादी व सुविधावादी दृष्टिकोण दूर हो। उसमें दूसरों की योग्यता को सम्मान देने की भावना विकसित हो। ऐसा करके ही हम श्रेष्ठताओं को गुमनामी के अंधेरों में जाने से रोक सकेंगे।
