सृष्टि परस्पर विश्वास से जुड़ी है इसके टूटते ही अखंडता नहीं रहती ..(Is linked to the creation of mutual trust It does not break the integrity..)

उस वर्ष देवता जैसे कुपित हो गए थे। आषाढ़ बीता, सावन बीत गया लेकिन वर्षा की एक बूंद भी धरती पर नहीं गिरी। कुओं, सरोवर और नदियों का पानी सूखने लगा। वर्षा का इंतजार करते-करते लोगों के धीरज का बांध टूट गया। एक ही रास्ता बचा कि प्रभु से प्रार्थना करें। मंदिर में सामूहिक प्रार्थना के लिए लोग जुट गए। तभी सबकी नजर छाता लिए एक नन्हें बालक पर पड़ी। पूछने पर बालक ने निश्छल भाषा में कहा - अभी हम भगवान से वर्षा के लिये प्रार्थना करेंगे, इंद्र देवता प्रसन्न होकर पानी बरसाएंगे। वापस घर जाते समय बारिश में भीग न जाऊं, इसलिए छाता लाया हूं। 

यह सुनकर लोग हंस पड़े कि कितना नादान है। इतना भी नहीं समझता कि ऐसी प्रार्थनाओं से कभी वर्षा हुआ करती है।  मन में संशय भरा हुआ था। देखादेखी सब भगवान के सामने हाथ जोड़ कर खड़े हो गए। लेकिन बच्चे के कथन पर हंसते भी रहे। यह मनस्थिति केवल एक गांव की नहीं, लगभग पूरे धार्मिक और मानव समाज की है। ऊपर से प्रार्थनाएं चल रही हैं और भीतर से आशंकाएं दौड़ रही हैं। ऊपर से आस्थाएं और दृढ विश्वास की कथाएं और अंदर से संशयपूर्ण व्यथाएं चल रही हैं। यह दोहरी मानसिकता ही आदमी की सबसे बड़ी विडंबना है। कथा आगे चलती है। आसमान में बादल घुमड़ने लगे और बिजली कड़कने के साथ ही मूसलाधार पानी बरसने लगा। लोग नाचने लगे। सबके मुंह पर एक ही बात थी कि प्रार्थना कितनी असरदार रही। कहते हैं, तभी आकाशवाणी हुई कि अपने और अपनी प्रार्थना पर घमंड मत करो। इस नन्हें बालक की प्रार्थना पर वर्षा भेजी गई है। तुम्हारी प्रार्थना पर तो स्वयं तुम्हें ही विश्वास नहीं था। अनास्थापूर्ण प्रार्थना का कोई असर नहीं होता, चाहे पूरे धरती-आसमान को गुंजाने वाला ही क्यों न हो। कमी अगर है तो पुकार, आस्था, संकल्प और विश्वास की है। ईसा मसीह अपने शिष्यों से कहते हैं - मांगो और वह तुम्हें मिलेगा, खटखटाओ और तुम्हारे लिए खुलेगा, खोजो और तुम पा लोगे। कमी मांगने, खटखटाने और खोजने में है। ऊपर से मांग रहे हैं, लेकिन भीतर मिलने में संदेह है। फिर कोई मिले भी तो कैसे मिले।  भीतर के संशय और अविश्वास ही हमें कहीं पहुंचने नहीं दे रहा है। महावीर तो यहां तक कहते हैं कि जहां संशय है, वहां ज्ञान भी नहीं होता। 

आस्था स्वयं सुख है, संशय स्वयं दुख है। आस्था से ही विश्वास जुड़ा हुआ है। पूरी सृष्टि परस्पर विश्वास से जुड़ी हुई है। इसके टूटते ही सृष्टि की अखंडता टूट जाती है। संशय परमात्मा, आत्मा, धर्म आदि से ही नहीं तोड़ता, घर परिवार समाज और अपने आप से भी तोड़ता है।
