गुणधर्म-यह त्रिदोषनाशक, ग्रहों को दूर करने वाला, तिक्त, कटु, उष्णवीर्य है। कम मात्रा में खाने पर भूख बढ़ाने वाला है। इसका जल पीने से उलटी होती है तथा उलटी होने से विष दूर होता है। 

इसके जल का नस्य लेने से मस्तक रोग और आधाशीशी रोग दूर होता है।

प्रयोज्य अंग- फल, छाल और बीज।

मात्रा- काढ़ा 30 से 50 मिली, उलटी के लिए 5 ग्राम चूर्ण। सामान्य मात्रा आधा से 1 ग्राम चूर्ण।

11. बालों के रोग में- जूं-लीख मारने के लिए तथा बालों को काले, रेशमी, मुलायम बनाने के लिए उत्तम पाउडर घर में बनाएं।कपूरकचरी, नागरमोथा 10-10 ग्राम और कपूर तथा रीठे की गिरी 40-40 ग्राम, शिकाकाई 150 ग्राम, 200 ग्राम आंवला सबको पीसकर चूर्ण बना लें। सबको मिलाकर रख लें। जब भी उपयोग करना हो, 50 ग्राम चूर्ण लेकर 400 मि.ली. पानी में 30 मिनट तक भिगोकर रखें। 30 मिनट बाद मसलकर छानकर उस पानी से बालों को धोएं।
