परिश्रम से अर्जित सम्पति .. ..(Laboriously acquired assets ..)

एक बुजुर्ग लोगों को हरदम आदर्श जीवन की शिक्षा दिया करते थे। वह विशेष तौर पर स्वावलंबन की बात अधिक करते थे। एक दिन उनके एक मित्र की मृत्यु हो गई। वह अच्छी तरह से जानते थे कि मित्र का पुत्र थोड़ा गैरजिम्मेदार और आलसी है। इसलिए वह पिता की संपत्ति का दुरुपयोग ही करेगा और उसे समाप्त कर देगा। यह चिंता लेकर एक दिन वह अपने मित्र के घर गए। मित्र का पुत्र उन्हें जानता था। उसने आदर सहित उनको बैठाया और कहा, ‘कुछ दिनों बाद ही दीपावली आने को है। आप उस दिन हमारे घर भोजन करने अवश्य पधारें।’ बुजुर्ग ने कुछ सोचा और ‘हां’ कर दी। दीपावली के दिन बुजुर्ग अपने दिवंगत मित्र के घर भोजन पर गए। उसका पुत्र धन उड़ाने में लगा हुआ था। बैठते ही खूब बढ़िया भोजन उनके सामने परोसा गया। जैसे ही बुजुर्ग ने पहला कौर अपने मुंह में लिया, तत्काल उनके मुंह से निकला, ‘अरे, ये तो बहुत बासी भोजन है।’ मित्र का पुत्र चौंक गया। उसने कहा, ‘भोजन अभी तैयार किया गया है। बासी हो ही नहीं सकता।’ बुजुर्ग ने उत्तर दिया, ‘मुझे तो इसमें वर्षों पूर्व की गंध आ रही है।’ मेजबान इशारे में कही बात का मर्म समझ गया। उसके पिता के मित्र यह कहना चाह रहे थे कि यह भोजन जिस धन से निर्मित है, वह तुम्हारे पिता ने अर्जित किया था, तुमने नहीं। जिस दिन तुम्हारे अर्जित धन से भोजन निर्मित होगा, उसकी ताजगी अलग ही होगी। मेजबान ने उनसे विनम्रतापूर्वक कहा कि आपके द्वारा कहने का आशय मैं समझ गया हूं। सच बात है कि अपने परिश्रम से स्वयं धन अर्जित करना चाहिए। पूर्वजों की संपत्ति प्राप्त होना सौभाग्य है, लेकिन उसमें वृद्धि करना, उसका सदुपयोग करना ही पुरुषार्थ है। मैं अब ऐसा ही करूंगा। आपको निमंत्रण तभी दूंगा जब भोजन से ताजा सुगंध आएगी।
