दूसरों की मदद करते हुए हम प्रभु के बच्चों की मदद करते हैं...(While we help others God help the children...)

एक धार्मिक परिवार के सदस्य जब भोजन के लिए बैठते तो पिता प्रार्थना के अंत में प्रभु का आह्नान करता कि प्रभु परिवार के अतिथि बनकर आएं और उनके भोजन को आशीष दें। हर रात किशोर पुत्र इस प्रार्थना को ध्यान से सुनता। एक दिन उसने पिता से पूछा,‘आप हर रात प्रभु को आने के लिए क्यों पूछते रहते हो, जबकि प्रभु कभी आते नहीं।’ पिता के पास कोई उत्तर न था, फिर भी उन्होंने कहा,‘बेटा, हम इंतजार करते रहेंगे। मुझे विश्वास है कि प्रभु हमारे निमंत्रण को सुनते हैं।’

बेटा बोला,‘अच्छा, अगर आपको उम्मीद है कि प्रभु रात्रि-भोजन के लिए आएंगे तो आपने मेज पर भगवान के लिए कभी कोई स्थान सुरक्षित क्यों नहीं रखा? अगर आप चाहते हैं कि प्रभु आएं, तो भगवान के लिए कोई स्थान चुनकर रखना होगा।’ पिता ने प्रभु के लिए एक स्थान सुरक्षित कर दिया। वहां उसने चांदी के उत्तम बर्तन, एक प्लेट, एक रूमाल और एक गिलास सजा दिया। जैसे ही उसने मेज पर सामान सजाया, दरवाजे पर दस्तक हुई। बालक यह सोचकर उत्तेजित था कि अब प्रभु आ जाएंगे। उसने दरवाजा खोला तो उसने एक बेघर बच्चे को खड़ा पाया। वह कांप रहा था। बाहर बहुत ठंड थी। बेटे को धक्का लगा क्योंकि उसे प्रभु के दर्शनों की उम्मीद थी। उसने कहा,‘मेरे ख्याल में प्रभु आज नहीं आ पाए। उन्होंने अपनी जगह इस बच्चे को भेज दिया है।’ उसने प्रभु के लिए सुरक्षित स्थान पर बच्चे को बिठा दिया।

दरअसल, हमें पता नहीं होता कि प्रभु किस रूप में हमारे पास आएंगे। कई लोग सिर्फ प्रत्यक्ष रूप से प्रभु की सेवा करना चाहते हैं। हम यह नहीं समझते कि प्रभु की सृष्टि की सेवा भी प्रभु का ही कार्य है। प्रतिदिन हमें दूसरों की मदद करने के अवसर मिलते हैं। दूसरों की मदद करते हुए हम प्रभु के बच्चों की मदद करते हैं। सभी प्रभु के अंश हैं। जब हम किसी को दुत्कारते हैं तो हम प्रभु के एक बच्चे को दुत्कारते हैं। तब हम कैसे उम्मीद कर सकते हैं कि प्रभु हमसे खुश होंगे?

संत-सद्गुरु निष्काम सेवा के मूर्त रूप होते हैं। वे अपना जीवन औरों के लिए कुर्बान कर देते हैं। अपना काम-काज छोड़ दूसरों की जरूरत में मदद करने जुट जाते हैं। वे अपने समाज के सक्रिय सदस्य होते हैं और जो भी उनके पास आता है, वे उसकी मदद करते हैं। अध्यात्म, दूसरों की मदद करने से दूर भागना नहीं है। इसका अर्थ है, दूसरों की जरूरतें समझना, उनके प्रति संवेदनशील होना। 

जब हम ध्यान-अभ्यास द्वारा आध्यात्मिक रूप से विकसित होने की कोशिश में हों, हमें अपने दिल को बड़ा कर, उसमें पूरी सृष्टि को एक परिवार की तरह समाने की कोशिश करनी चाहिए। जब हम ऐसा करेंगे, हम पाएंगे कि हम सचमुच प्रभु की खुशी पा लेंगे।
