श्रेष्ठ जीवन की परख..(Assaying of the best life ..)

एक जगह मंदिर का निर्माण चल रहा था। अनेक मजदूर काम में जुटे थे। तभी उधर से स्वामी रामतीर्थ गुजरे। उनके साथ उनका एक शिष्य भी था। स्वामी जी जिज्ञासावश एक मजदूर के पास पहुंचे। उन्होंने उससे पूछा,‘क्यों भाई, क्या कर रहे हो?’ वह स्वामी जी के प्रश्न पर भड़कते हुए बोला,‘क्या तुम्हारी आंखें फूटी हुई हैं? तुम्हें मैं पत्थर तोड़ता दिखाई नहीं दे रहा हूं?’ स्वामी जी उस मजदूर का जवाब सुनकर चुपचाप आगे बढ़ गए और दूसरे मजदूर के पास पहुंचे। वह न तो विशेष प्रसन्न था और न बहुत उदास। स्वामी जी ने जब अपना प्रश्न दोहराया तो वह सहजता से बोला, ‘मैं रोजी-रोटी कमाने के लिए काम कर रहा हूं।’ इसके बाद स्वामी जी तीसरे मजदूर के पास पहुंचे। उनका वही प्रश्न सुनकर वह मजदूर आनंदित होकर बोला, ‘मुझे एक नेक काम में भागीदार बनने का सुनहरा अवसर प्राप्त हुआ है। उसी अवसर का लाभ उठाकर मंदिर निर्माण में अपना योगदान दे रहा हूं।’ स्वामी जी ने अपने शिष्य को बताया, ‘इन मजदूरों के अलग-अलग व्यवहार से मनुष्य की तीन तरह की प्रकृति सामने आती है। पहली प्रकृति वाले हमेशा तनावग्रस्त होकर सिर्फ पत्थर तोड़ने के अंदाज में जीते हैं। दूसरी प्रकृति वाले जीवन को तनाव व सुख का मिश्रण समझते हैं और उसमें रोजी-रोटी कमाने के लिए जीते हैं और तीसरी प्रकृति वाले अपने जीवन के तनाव व दुखों में भी इनसे निर्लिप्त होकर जीवन में कुछ प्राप्त करने के लिए जीते हैं। वास्तव में तीसरी प्रकृति वाले लोग ही जीवन सही अंदाज में जीते हैं। जीवन का अर्थ ही है- आप कुछ कर के दिखाएं न कि उसे सिर्फ कुढ़न, तनाव व रोजगार में गंवा दें। आमतौर पर लोग अपना जीवन निरर्थक कार्यों में गंवा देते हैं, किंतु जो इसमें मंदिर निर्मित करते हैं उनका जीवन श्रेष्ठ बन जाता है।’
