हम कहीं भी नहीं पहुंच पाएंगे अगर आस्था में संशय शामिल हो...(We will not get anywhere If faith be skeptical...)

संपूर्ण संसार में आस्था और विश्वास पर सबसे ज्यादा जोर डाला गया है। गीता, कुरआन, बाइबिल, गुरुग्रंथ साहिब और महावीर-वाणी जैसे ग्रंथों का संबंध धर्म से है, इसलिए हम इन्हें श्रद्धा के केंद्र में रखते हैं। यह श्रद्धा ही हम में विश्वास या आस्था पैदा करती है। इस कसौटी पर अगर हम कार्ल मार्क्स के दास कैपिटल को रखें तो हर धर्म जहां अपने-अपने अनुयायियों को अपने मान्य ग्रंथ को मुक्तिदाता कहा है, वैसे ही साम्यवाद भी दास कैपिटल को मुक्तिदाता घोषित करता है और उस पर विश्वास रखने पर जोर देता है। 

मतलब यह है कि साम्यवादी विचारधारा ने धर्म और ईश्वर की अवधारणा को भले अस्वीकार किया है, आस्था और विश्वास को नहीं। अर्थात आस्था का संबंध केवल आत्मा-परमात्मा से नहीं, संपूर्ण अस्तित्व से है। आस्था जीवन की संचालन-शक्ति है। संशय उत्पन्न होते ही वह शक्ति गड़बड़ा जाती है। अनिष्ट की आशंका के साथ ही हम अपनी यात्रा स्थगित कर देते हैं। विषाणुओं के संशय के साथ ही हम सुस्वादु भोजन का परित्याग कर देते हैं। चाहे भीतर विषाणु नहीं भी हो, किंतु संशय उस भोजन को विषाक्त बना देता है। देखा गया है कि विश्वास के साथ ली गयी साधारण दवा भी चमत्कारपूर्ण प्रभाव दिखा देती है, लेकिन संशयपूर्ण चित्त से ली गयी जीवनदायी औषधि भी निष्फल हो जाती है। संशय बड़े से बड़ा रोग खड़ा कर सकता है। उसका निवारण होते ही रोग भी गायब हो जाता है।

एक घटना कहीं पढ़ी है कि एक पादरी सुबह जब सो कर उठे तो टेबल पर रखे उनके नकली दांत गायब थे। हर जगह ढूंढा लेकिन कहीं नहीं मिला। उन्हें यह शक हुआ कि रात को दांत निकालना भूल गए होंगे और वह नींद में निगल गए होंगे। इतना संशय होते ही अचानक उनके पेट में तेज दर्द उठना शुरू हो गया। वे डॉक्टर के पास दौड़े-दौड़े गए और अपनी व्यथा-कथा सुनाते हुए तुरंत ऑपरेशन से दांत निकालने का आग्रह करने लगे। दर्द इतना था कि वे एक्सरे में भी समय बर्बाद नहीं करना चाह रहे थे। इतने में उन्हें यह खबर मिली कि दांत मिल गए हैं। लगता है अपनी ही बिल्ली रात में दांत उठा कर मकान के दूसरे हिस्से में ले गयी होगी। दांत मिलने के संवाद के साथ ही उन्हें नींद में निगले जाने का उनका संशय भी जाता रहा। संशय हटते ही उनके पेट का दर्द भी शांत होने लगा। 

मतलब यह कि संशय पूरी जीवन-व्यवस्था को उथल-पुथल करके रख देता है। इसलिए जीवन को सुचारु रूप से चलाने के लिए विश्वास और आस्था का होना बहुत जरूरी है। अगर आस्था-विश्वास के साथ संशय आ जाए, तो यकीन मानिए हम कहीं भी नहीं पहुंच पायेंगे। पूर्ण-आस्था ही हमें मंजिल पर पहुंचाएगी, चाहे हमारी यात्रा विपरीत ध्रुवों से ही क्यों न हुई हो।
