मनुष्य जीवन में व्यक्तित्व का विशेष महत्व होता है। सूरत कैसी भी हो, लेकिन सीरत अच्छी होनी चाहिए। ऐसा इसलिए, क्योंकि यही सीरत ही आपके व्यक्तित्व को दर्शाती है। मसलन कुछ लोग बहुत सुंदर दिखते हैं, लेकिन उनके बजाय कोई साधारण-सा व्यक्ति हमारे मन में अपनी गहरी छाप छोड़ देता है। बाहरी तौर पर सुंदर दिखने वाले शख्स की तुलना में साधारण व्यक्ति के चेहरे पर छाई मधुर मुस्कान, उसके व्यवहार में शिष्टाचार और बातचीत करने का सलीका हमारे दिलो-दिमाग में एक खास पहचान बना लेता है। हर मनुष्य का अपना-अपना व्यक्तित्व, अपनी पहचान है। इसकी विशेषता यही है कि लाखों-करोड़ों लोगों की भीड़ में वह अपन निराले व्यक्तित्व के कारण पहचान लिया जाता है। दरअसल, व्यक्ति की उस संपूर्ण छवि का नाम ही व्यक्तित्व है, जो वह दूसरों के सामने बनाता है। यानी यदि आपकी छवि सकारात्मक होती है तो आप दूसरे के सामने प्रशंसा के पात्र बन जाते हैं। इसी तरह यदि आपकी छवि नकारात्मक होती है तो आप अपमान के पात्र बन सकते हैं। खास बात यह कि किसी भी व्यक्ति का व्यक्तित्व उसके केवल एक गुण के कारण नहीं बनता, बल्कि इसमें उसकी संपूर्ण छवियां जैसे-ज्ञान, अभिव्यक्ति, सहनशीलता, गंभीरता, प्रस्तुतीकरण आदि होती है। हर व्यक्ति उस पत्थर की तरह है, जिसके भीतर एक सुंदर मूर्ति छिपी होती है, जिसे एक शिल्पी की आंख देख पाती है। वह उसे तराशकर सुंदर मूर्ति में बदल सकता है। हालांकि, मूर्ति पहले से ही पत्थर में मौजूद होती है, शिल्पी तो बस उस फालतू पत्थर को एक तरफ कर देता है, जिसमें मूर्ति ढकी होती है। जैसे किसी पेड़ पर दो पत्ते एक जैसे नहीं होते, वैसे ही हर व्यक्ति में अंतर होता है। सभी में कुछ खूबियां-खामियां होती हैं। बात सिर्फ इन्हें पहचानने और अच्छे गुणों को आत्मसात करने और बुरे गुणों का त्याग करने की है। यानी हम अपने व्यक्ति में हमेशा निखार ला सकते हैं। इस ओर सबसे पहले अपने मन-मस्तिष्क में सकारात्मक सोच लानी चाहिए। मतलब यदि हम सदैव सकारात्मक विचार रखेंगे तो हमेशा सृजनात्मक कार्य करेंगे।
