पानी में घुला हुआ नमक दिखाई नहीं देता। इसका यह मतलब नहीं कि वह गायब हो गया। हालांकि आंख से नहीं देख सकते, पर जबान से उसे चख तो सकते हैं। आपके साथ भी यही हाल है। आप शांति को आंखों से नहीं देख सकते, परंतु हृदय से उसका अनुभव कर सकते हैं। वह शक्ति भी सब जगह है- थल में भी है, आकाश, वायु, जल और पेड़ों में भी है और उसी के होने की वजह से आप भी जीवित हैं। आप विश्वास करते हैं कि आपकी जन्मकुंडली में लिखा हुआ है, इसकी वजह से आप जीवित हैं, परंतु नहीं। कौन कब जाएगा, यह किसी को नहीं मालूम। कब क्या होगा, यह किसी को नहीं मालूम। पर लोग अपने जीवन के अंदर इसी चीज का विश्वास करके चलते हैं कि उनको मालूम है कि कल क्या होगा। आप जीते कहां हैं? वर्तमान में। कल तो आप जी नहीं सकते। अगर कल आएगा भी तो उसको आज का रूप लेना पड़ेगा। तो आप जीते कहां हैं? आज में। और आपकी आशाएं कहां हैं? कल में। आप चिंता किसकी करते हैं? कल की। और कल कभी आएगा नहीं। सारी जिंदगी आज में आपको जीना है। 

संस्कार यह डालने चाहिए कि आपके अंदर शांति है, उसे खोजो, उसको महसूस करो। अगर शांति-शांति कहने से ही शांति हो जाती तो अब तक तो हो जानी चाहिए थी। अब तक नहीं हुई है, तो कम से कम कुछ तो बदलिए। क्या बदलिए? मुंह को बंद कीजिए और अंतर्मुख होकर हृदय को खोलिए। क्योंकि शांति को पैदा करने की जरूरत नहीं है। शांति तो स्वयं आपके अंदर है, जैसे वह नमक जो पानी में घला हुआ है, वैसे ही शांति भी आपके अंदर है। होश संभालने के साथ ही आप शांति, आनंद और चैन को ढूंढ रहे हैं। परंतु वह आपके हृदय के अंदर ही स्थित है। उसके अनुभव के लिए आपको इसे अपनाना पड़ेगा। इसे महसूस करने के लिए आप में इच्छा होनी चाहिए कि आप अपने जीवन में यह शांति चाहते हैं। जब तक अनुभव नहीं होगा, तब तक सारी बातें अधूरी हैं। जिस शांति की आपको तलाश है, वह शांति आपके अंदर है। कब तक रहेगी? जब तक आप जीवित हैं, तब तक रहेगी। आपकी सुंदरता कब बढ़ेगी? इस संसार के अंदर ऐसी कौन सी चीज है, जिसे पहनकर आप दरअसल अच्छे लगेंगे? वह है शांति।

आप शांति रूपी चादर ओढ़ेंगे तो आपके चेहरे पर मुस्कान होगी। वह मुस्कान सबसे सुंदर दिखाई देगी, तब आप असल में चमकेंगे। हृदय के दर्पण में आप अपनी परछाई देखेंगे, तो आप भी ऐसे आनंद से भर जाएंगे और कहेंगे - ‘हे बनाने वाले, तुमने कितनी सुंदर चीज बनाई है जिसे हम बाहर ढूंढ रहे हैं।’ हकीकत में वे हमारे हृदय में है. शांति से बड़ा सुख हो नहीं सकता। आप इसे मह्सूस कर सकते है और दूसरा आपके चहरे से पढ़ सकता है.
