बुद्धिमान भारतीय .. (Intelligent Indian..)

सुभाष चंद्र बोस इंग्लैंड में आईसीएस का इंटरव्यू देने गए। वहां उनका इंटरव्यू लेने वाले सभी अधिकारी अंग्रेज थे। दरअसल, वे भारतीय को किसी उच्च पद पर नहीं देखना चाहते थे। इसलिए इंटरव्यू में अजीबो-गरीब प्रश्न पूछकर भारतीयों को नीचा दिखाने का प्रयास करते रहते थे। सुभाष इंटरव्यू के लिए अंग्रेज अधिकारियों के समक्ष बैठ गए। अधिकारी ने उन्हें देखकर व्यंग्य से मुस्कराते हुए पूछा, ‘बताओ, उस छत के पंखे में कुल कितनी पंखुड़ियां हैं।’ प्रश्न सुनकर सुभाष की नजर पंखे पर चली गई। उन्हें पंखे की ओर देखता पाकर अंग्रेज मुस्कराते हुए एक-दूसरे की ओर देखने लगे। तभी दूसरा अंग्रेज बोला, ‘यदि तुम पंखुड़ियों की सही संख्या नहीं बता पाए तो इस इंटरव्यू में फेल हो जाओगे।’ एक और सदस्य बोला, ‘भारतीयों में बुद्धि होती ही कहां है?’ उनकी बातें सुनकर सुभाष निर्भीकता से बोले, ‘अगर मैंने इसका सही जवाब दे दिया तो आप भी मुझसे दूसरा प्रश्न नहीं पूछ पाएंगे। और साथ ही मेरे सामने यह भी स्वीकार करेंगे कि भारतीय न सिर्फ बुद्धिमान होते हैं बल्कि वे निर्भीकता और धैर्य से हर प्रश्न का हल खोज लेते हैं।’ इसके बाद सुभाष तेजी से अपने स्थान से उठे। उन्होंने चलता पंखा बंद कर दिया और पंखा रुकते ही पंखुड़ियों की संख्या गिन ली। सुभाष की विलक्षण  बुद्धि, सामयिक सूझबूझ और साहस को देखकर इंटरव्यू बोर्ड के सदस्यों के सर शर्म से झुक गए। वे फिर उनसे आगे कोई प्रश्न नहीं पूछ पाए। उन्हें इस बात को भी स्वीकार करना पड़ा कि भारतीय साहस, बुद्धिमानी और आत्मविश्वास से हर मुसीबत का हल खोज लेते हैं।
