आत्मा और परमात्मा ..(Soul and Spirit..)

  

मानव जीवन का एकमात्र उद्देश्य आत्मा का साक्षात्कार करना है और जिस व्यक्ति का आत्मा से साक्षात्कार हो गया तो उसे परमात्मा के भी दर्शन हो जाते हैं। हालांकि बहुत से लोग यह नहीं जानते कि आत्मा का साक्षात्कार कैसे किया जाए। ऐसा ही एक जिज्ञासु व्यक्ति एक संत के पास गया और बोला-महाराज मैं सालों से पूजा-पाठ कर रहा हूं, मैंने सारे तीर्थ भी कर लिए हैं, लेकिन अब तक मुङो परमात्मा के दर्शन नहीं हुए? इस पर संत ने उत्तर दिया, ‘परमात्मा के दर्शन पूजा-पाठ, सत्संग या तीर्थ करने से नहीं होते। ये साधन हो सकते हैं, लेकिन आत्मदर्शन से ही परमात्मा के दर्शन होते हैं।’ अब उस व्यक्ति ने प्रश्न किया-महाराज तो फिर आत्मा के दर्शन कहां होंगे? संत ने उत्तर दिया-अपनी आंखें बंद करो और आत्मा को अपने अंदर ही खोजो। वह तुम्हारे भीतर ही कहीं गुम है। कबीरदास कहते हैं कि परमात्मा और आत्मा एक नहीं हैं और परमात्मा और आत्मा अलग-अलग भी नहीं हैं, क्योंकि जैसी आत्मा, वैसा ही परमात्मा और जैसा परमात्मा, वैसी ही आत्मा। इनमें कोई अंतर या भेद नहीं है। इसी बात को वे अपने इस दोहे में समझाते हैं कि विशुद्ध लोहे से बना चुंबक लोहे को ही अपनी ओर आकर्षित कर लेता है, अन्य धातुओं को नहीं। लोहे से चुंबक और चुंबक से लोहा इस प्रकार चिपक जाता है कि दोनों को अलग करने के लिए बल का प्रयोग करना पड़ता है। इसी प्रकार परमात्मा और आत्मा में संबंध है। खैर लोग यह भी समझते हैं कि उनका शरीर ही आत्मा है और जब उनकी मृत्यु होगी तब आत्मा भी मर जाएगी। गीता में भगवान श्रीकृष्ण कहते हैं, आत्मा को शस्त्र से काटा नहीं जा सकता, अग्नि उसे जला नहीं सकती, जल उसे गला नहीं सकता और वायु उसे सुखा नहीं सकती। यानी जिस प्रकार मनुष्य पुराने वस्त्रों को त्यागकर नए वस्त्र धारण करता है, उसी प्रकार आत्मा पुराने शरीर को त्यागकर नवीन शरीर धारण करती है। आत्मा और शरीर के मिलन से ही जीवात्मा बनता है। भगवान गीता में कहते हैं, ‘हे अजरुन! मेरे जन्म और कर्म दिव्य और अलौकिक हैं। जो मनुष्य मुङो जान लेता है, वह शरीर को त्यागकर फिर जन्म को प्राप्त नहीं होता, किंतु मुङो ही प्राप्त होता है।’ बहरहाल आत्मा और परमात्मा दोनों प्रेम के भूखे हैं और यही प्रेम जीवात्मा को इनके करीब भी लाता है।
