संपूर्ण सृष्टि एक परिवार है इसमें न कोई छोटा है न बड़ा. ..(The entire universe is one family It's not big or small ..)

मैंने सुना है कि पर्यावरण अनुसंधान के संदर्भ में किसी देश में एक बार एक विशेष प्रयोग किया गया। इसके लिए लगभग दस किलोमीटर के जंगल को घेर दिया गया ताकि वहां का जीवन सहज और प्रकृति के अनुरूप रहे, इंसान का हस्तक्षेप वहां नहीं हो। फिर उस जंगल से एक गिलहरी को हटा लिया गया। कुछ समय बाद देखा गया कि जंगल के जीवन का संतुलन गड़बड़ाने लगा। कुछ वैसा ही, जैसे विशाल सभागार के कोने से गुलदस्ता हटा देने से खालीपन छा जाता है। जंगल के पेड़-पौधे, झाड़ियां, फल-फूल-पत्ते, नदी-नाले जैसे कह रहे हों कि हमारे परिवार का एक सदस्य हमसे बिछुड़ गया। शोधकर्ताओं ने उस गिलहरी को उसके पूर्व स्थान पर फिर रख दिया। उनको विचित्र अनुभव हुआ कि जंगल की रौनक वापस लौट आई।

दरअसल यह संपूर्ण सृष्टि अपने में एक परिवार है। एक जलकण से लेकर महासागर तक, रजकण से लेकर हिमालय और काकेशस की पर्वत-मालाओं तक, सूक्ष्मतम जीवाणु से लेकर विशालकाय हाथी तक। सबके सब इस सृष्टि परिवार के सदस्य हैं। इनमें न कोई छोटा है और न कोई बड़ा। सब एक-दूसरे के पूरक हैं। हर किसी की अपनी-अपनी विशेषताएं हैं। सबके अपने कार्यक्षेत्र हैं और उनकी अपनी कार्य-शैलियां और सामर्थ्य हैं। कवि इमर्सन ने इसी दर्शन को कविता की भाषा में कहा है,‘गिलहरी पहाड़ से कह रही है कि सबका प्रतिभा-बल अपना-अपना है। जो है, वह अच्छा है और बुद्धिसंगत है। मैं यदि अपनी पीठ पर जंगल नहीं उठा सकती तो तुम भी एक छोटा-सा अखरोट नहीं तोड़ सकते।’ 

यह स्थिति हर परिवार और देश व समाज की है। इसलिए कार्य-सामर्थ्य अपने को अहंकार से भरने के लिए नहीं, संपूर्णता को बरकरार रखने के लिए है। जितने भी जीव-जंतु हैं, ये सब सृष्टि-परिवार के सदस्य हैं। इन सब की अपनी उपयोगिता है। किसी को भी क्षुद्र या निरर्थक मानना उचित नहीं। सृष्टि-व्यवस्था में सबकी जरूरत होती है। यही बात मनुष्य-समाज पर भी लागू है। लेकिन हमारा जो अहं है, वह ऊंच-नीच, बड़ा-छोटा के भेद से निकल नहीं पा रहा है। यह एक तुच्छ अहंकार है जो असहयोग को प्रश्रय देता है। इससे मुक्त होकर हम सृष्टि का अध्ययन करें तो पाएंगे कि यह कितनी सुंदर है। हर प्राणी कितना अद्भुत और अनुपम है। 

शायद इसी अनुभव से गुजरते हुए भगवान महावीर ने कहा था,‘परस्पर सहयोग, उपकार और पारस्परिक प्यार ही जीवधारियों का आधार है।’ हम सब भी अनुभव की नजर से अगर समाज और सृष्टि को देखने लगेंगे तो इसका संपूर्ण अर्थ मिल जाएगा। फिर हर किसी की अर्थवत्ता हमारे समक्ष आने लगेगी और वह कितना मूल्यवान है, इसका बोध हमें होने लगेगा।
